SAFETY
Please be courteous to other runners and marshals. The race is being run on closed roads, some of which are residential roads
Please respect your surroundings and try not to throw litter. This could impede another runner
Please leave the finish area promptly. Water and foil blankets will be available at the finish
If you witness anyone in trouble please offer assistance if possible or alert the nearest marshal/First Aider
There will be an ambulance on the A555, one at the Fiveways Junction and one at the finish area – with a paramedic and first aiders
HEADPHONES
We strongly advise against wearing headphones. It can be dangerous as we need all runners to hear instructions from marshals, and all can be made aware of any potential hazards on the route.
The only headphones that we could recommend be worn are the ‘bone conducting’ headphones that don’t sit in your ears – such as Shokz (we sell them in the shop)
SPECTATORS
As Jacksons Lane is only being closed for the start, spectators can stand on the pavements to watch the runners leave plenty of room on the A555 – Manchester Airport Link Road – to watch
COURSE
The course has been officially measured and licenced by England Athletics –
Licence number #28658
‘Undulating out and back route on country lanes and main A road with 707m of gravel paths’

Taking a left turn onto the gravel path at the side of the A555, over the bridge. U turn back towards the main road

Another turnaround at the bridlepath, a short run back along the carriageway to
the cycle path onto Woodford Road, Be careful as you leave the carriageway (approx. 8k) – there are 2 cycle barriers on the path.
Marshals will be on hand to warn you

There will be marshals to help direct you and support you all the way. Give them a smile and thank you as you pass (they’ve given up their Sunday morning)
